I can't believe what I hear!
The GOP leaders are now saying that they "may be able" to work with the President if he is willing to compromise. Besides sounding arrogant, it's a totally hypocritical position.
There are no words to describe such a demagogic behavior. Republicans became experts in NOT compromising on anything! For two years the GOP said NO to all projects advanced in Congress by the Democrats. They voted against some ideas that were even of their own! How stupid is that????
The GOP's statements are becoming more and more offensive to the American people, suggesting that people are dumb and lack intelligence. May be it is so. The worst, however, is that the GOP has been very successful in blinding and mesmerizing their people - just see what happened on election day!
What kind of "compromise" do they want from Obama? Certainly to do just this:
- Privatizing Social Security - so everyone will lose retirement on another Wall Street robbery.
- Privatizing Medicare - more money lost to the wealthy on Wall street.
- Repealing the new healthcare law - making sure insurance companies keep ripping us off. People's afordability is not an issue for the GOP.
- Sending more jobs to China - the GOP doesn't care about the American worker.
- Keeping tax cuts to the rich - they never, ever think about the middle class.
Who knows what else is on their list? But, isn't the absurdity above enough to outrage any intelligent, thinking human being?
It's amazing how many people in this country are willing and able to vote against themselves...

YOu know George, they keep saying that Tuesdays elections showed that the American people rejected Obama's policies and it was a referendum on the Obama presidency.
ReplyDelete1st, most races were really tight with only 3, 4% difference between winners and losers. So, the American people didn't reject anything. Perhaps 30% of independents, upset with the current economy, felt they should again give the other party another shot. That's it. 70% of Independents went with Obama in 2008 and this time only 30% or so. Enough to give the GOP the upper hand. Democrats still supported the President, Republicans still voted againts, as usual!!!
Plus, another important point. When Obama won in 2008, he won running on Universal Healthcare, running on low emissions, running on closing Guatanamo (not yet done). The American people overwhelmingly voted with that and what did the GOP do? Did they listen to what the American people wanted?? Now, they want Obama to listen?
That's crazy!!!
People quickly forgot that the complex crisis we have been in was created by the Bush-it administration. For EIGHT years Bush and Cheney destroyed this country, consistently taking us into the wrong direction.
ReplyDeleteNow that we are going into the right direction, with some projects already in place (despite the GOP's NO vote for all of them), can't we give this administration some time to fix the mess created in 8 years?
Apparently not! People just decided to go back to Bush's policies. I honestly believe there must be some kind of IQ problem involved, some "Palinism", or "O'Donellnism", or so...
